Accommodation on the Way

Below are some of the places along the Cotswold Way where you can find accommodation. They were open in the Summer 2017 but may not be open when you read this, so check. I have included some campsites along the way as I found the pubs, hotels and bed and breakfasts to be quite expensive but this seems to be normal as you head South.

Chipping Campden - Start

I stayed a bus ride away in Stratford Upon Avon youth hostel as the hotel prices (for one person) in Chipping Campden were way out of my budget. If you stay here though there is the Kings Hotel and the Noel Arms plus a couple of bed and breakfasts.

Broadway - 6M

There are a few Guest Houses and Bed and breakfast here plus the Lygon Arms, Broadway Hotel and the Crown and Trumpet pubs.

Stanton - 10M

The Vine, Shenberrow and The Old Post House do Bed and Breakfast here.

Wood Stanway

Accommodation can be found at The Wood Stanway Farmhouse

Hayles Campsite - 15M

Hayles Fruit Farm offers a cheap night for camping, either carrying your own tent or hiring one of the built up tents that 3 people can stay in.

Winchcombe - 18M

The White Hart Inn and a couple of bed and breakfasts seemed to be the only accommodation here, surprising as it's quite a large place.

Ullenwood - National Star College - 35M

The small college has a Glamping area with 4 camping pods, sleeping up to 4 people, just bring your sleeping bag and leave your tent in your bag.

Painswick - 44M

The Falcon Inn would appear to be the only pub now with accommodation but there are a few bed and breakfasts around the village. If you fancy Glamping, head to Beech Farm, you can also camp there or there is a field in Tibbiwell Lane you can camp in cheaply and can book online.

Stroud (off route) - 51M

If you go off the route, you will find Stroud has many places to stay.

King Stanley and Middleyard - 53M

You will find the Orchardene bed and breakfast in King Stanley and just slightly further on in Middleyard you will find The Barn, Vale Cottage and Coombe cottage.

Dursley - 60M

The Old Bell Hotel and a couple of bed and breakfasts seemed to be all that I could find here which was surprising as it is quite a large place.

North Nibley - 65M

In North Nibley you can camp at Nibley House, they also offer bed and breakfast. The village pub, The Black Horse Inn also does accommodation.

Wotton-Under-Edge -68M

There is the Swan Hotel here and a couple of small bed and breakfasts.

Old Sodbury - 80M

The Dog Inn is the local village pub with accommodation.

Tormarton - 82M

The Compass Inn just outside Tormarton offers accommodation plus they allow camping if pre-arranged. It;s free to camp but they ask for a small donation in their charity jar which is fair. Also in Tormarton are a couple of bed and breakfasts nearby.

Pennsylvania - 88M

Whittington Farm does Bed and Breakfast and is on the route not far after you pass the petrol station in the village.

Bath - 100M

As many pubs, hotels and bed and breakfasts as you would expect to find in a busy tourist attraction City. Bath also has a Youth Hostel if you want to pay a lot less than you would in the hotels. If you have completed the walk though, spend a few quid and enjoy a relaxing night in one of the Hotels before heading home the next day or exploring the city.
